Bulletin – October 2, 2017

  • Jack Fletcher was selected as October’s Senior of the Month. Jack excels academically as he is ranked number one in his class and earned the National Merit Commended student award. Along with his studies, Jack is involved in various extracurricular activities which include: football, basketball, track, Key Club, Scholastic Bowl, and Harvest Team.  In addition to his extensive involvement in school, Jack finds time to give back as he volunteers within the community. He worked the Canton to Peoria St. Jude Run, collected donations for the trick or treat for UNICEF, and was a Camp Invention mentor. He plans on attending Harvard, The University of Illinois, or Vanderbilt next year where he will major in Applied Mathematics or Engineering. Congratulations, Jack!   • Congratulations to the Golden Wave Marching Band for placing 2nd at the Dunlap Invitational. Also, congratulations to the color guard for receiving Best Auxilary for class 2A.

  • Congratulations to FCHS Key Club for receiving the RIOT award at the Fall Leadership Rally yesterday at Metamora High School.

  • Congratulations to Jordan Peckham on her admission to Monmouth College. Jordan plans on studying a pre-vet major, and running track for the Fighting Scots. Once again, Congratulations, Jordan!

  • During all lunch hours Monday through Wednesday of this week, Book Club will be streaming the movie In the Time of the Butterflies based off of the book by Julia Alvarez. Feel free to grab your lunch and come watch even if you have yet to read the book.

  • Game club will meet on Tuesday this week.

  • There will be an Art Club meeting on Wednesday after school.  Please see Ms. Simaytis if you can’t make the meeting.

  • We will have a financial aid presentation and FAFSA completion workshop here next Thursday, October 5th at 6 PM in the computer lab for any interested Juniors and Seniors.

  • A college representative from ISU will be here today in the High School office during Enrichment. Please come down at this time for more information about ISU.
