Morning Announcements 3.4.2019

Bulletin – March 4, 2019             

               

  • Congratulations to both Science Olympiad teams for winning their regional Saturday.  The high school medaled in 20 out of 22 events and won 9 events. There were 9 high schools competing.  The junior high medaled in 22 out of 23 events and won 10 events. There were 8 junior highs competing. The junior high also won the spirit award.

 

Both teams qualified to compete at State April 13.

 

  • On Saturday, the following students performed at the IHSA State solo and ensemble contest and received the following ratings:

 

Melody Martin - Piano solo - 1, flute solo - 1, piccolo solo - 1

Jaden VanWinkle - vocal solo - 1

Lindsey Marinich - vocal solo - 1

Mckenna McKeever - vocal solo  - 1

Devin Johnson - vocal solo - 2

Chamber choir - 1

 

  • Reminder for Seniors: The Farmington Central Academic Foundation Scholarship applications are due THURSDAY, March 7th. This is an easy way to get free money for college - you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity!

 

  • Any students interested in trying out for the 2019-2020 varsity dance team needs to pick up a packet in the office. Any questions, contact Miss Clark.

 

  • Boys and girls mandatory track practices for all events officially begin TODAY.  Boys meet in Coach Hardesty's room & Girls meet in Coach Mendez room by 3:20 this afternoon.

 

  • Wanting to play Omnikin Volleyball against the classes? Come join us April 16th at 6 o’clock for Alz in for Alzheimer’s. You can sign up for your classes team in the office, teams will be 8-10 players from each grade and the winner will get a chance to play a team of our own teachers! You can get a shirt order form in the office and the research center. Any questions please contact Abby Simpson.

 

  • Harvest team member Mackenzie Schaer will be hosting a teddy bear drive for Alzheimer’s patients throughout the month of March. Patients suffering from this disease often feel lost, scared and uncomfortable. Having a teddy bear or doll can be a very effective way to reduce stress and agitation as well as increase their overall state of mind. Please consider donating a new stuffed animal to this cause!! Boxes will be set up in the school for drop off. Thank you!!

 

  • Come on out for a fun Friday night Dodgeball tournament on April 5th and help support our staff and student St. Jude runners!! Get your teams together and grab a sign up sheet in the office.  Signups need to be turned into the office by March 13th. Contact Bailey Kennelly if you have any questions.

 

  • There will be a prom committee meeting in Miss Burdess' room on Thursday, March 7th

during enrichment. All prom committee members MUST be in attendance.

 

  • Sophomores & Juniors: The deadline for the SAT Prep course is approaching - If you are interested in participating, please see Mrs. Neave in the Guidance Office.
