★ Mrs. Susan Gibbs is December’s Staff Member of the Month. She is married and has three children. One of her favorite things about Farmington is the community spirit. When she joined the staff at Farmington she wanted to be part of the team that made Farmington the place to be! She enjoys the students, her co-workers, and especially getting to work with Brandi Foster every day. :) Mrs. Gibbs sends the morning announcements to all of the students, deals with the activity fund money, answers calls in the office, and is one of the ladies that help keep things in order here in the high school. Some of her hobbies outside of her job are crafting, home improvement projects, and supporting her kids and their activities. Join FCHS Theatre as we present "Game of Tiaras" on Friday October 27 and Saturday October 28 at 7pm. Tickets are $3 students and $5 adult. Come have a very comical and sarcastic night with us! When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die

Today, Farmington Farmers visited the Monsanto Learning Center in Monmouth as part of our participation in the Fantasy Farming Challenge for local FFA chapters. We learned about some of the corn seed technologies being produced, and saw our plot for which the students made all the agronomic decisions (including seed variety, planting population, row spacing, nitrogen application, and fungicide and insecticide application). The results will be in once harvest is complete, but things look pretty good for our plot. Average yield estimates but sound decisions could have us in the running for most profitable plot!

From FCHS Key Club: Good afternoon! Are you ready to Eat For Change? Visit the Chipotle at either 300 West Washington Street in East Peoria or at 4512 N. Sterling Avenue in Peoria on Thursday, September 28 and 50% of your purchase will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) efforts to find a cure for all blood cancers. All you have to do is mention that you are ordering to support LLS. This Eat for Change day is an additional effort our school is making for our annual Pennies for Patients campaign. All funds raised will count toward our school’s giving total, which furthers the mission of LLS and helps kids like Brooke live a long, full life. Thank you for your support, now and always.

Congratulations on 10 years! Hi, I am Pat Mahr. I was born and raised in Kewanee, IL. I moved to Peoria for a job transfer, and met my husband, LeRoy Mahr, at work. He lived in rural Farmington. We moved south of Hanna City in 1976. We had at least one of our four children in school at either Hanna City, Logan or Farmington High School for 26 years. LeRoy retired from Ag-Land FS in Hanna City a few years ago, and went to work with our sons at Mahr Brothers Construction. I have been the church secretary at Hanna City Presbyterian Church for 19 1/2 years, and just retired at the end of June. I am enjoying my position as District Sub Coordinator which I have been doing from home for the past ten years. We are enjoying our grandchildren so very much!

25 Year Service Pin: My name is Angie Tracy and this is my 28th year of teaching. I began my teaching career in Broadwell, Illinois teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. For the last 25 years I have taught in the Farmington School District as Computer and Math teacher in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Currently I teach 7th grade math in the jr. high. I live in Elmwood with my husband Tom and two children, Catie a sophmore at WIU and Patrick a Senior at Elmwood High School. I truly love working with jr. high age children. They are a unique group and keep teaching interesting. In my free time I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with my family.
