Elementary School
2005-2006
Areas of Success
- ISAT
scores have increased over last year in nearly every subject and at nearly
every grade level.
- We
continue to offer a variety of educational services to our children and community,
including gifted education, special education services, Title 1 reading
support, and specialists in the teaching of physical education and the
fine arts.
- Curriculum
guides are in place and being used by teachers to align their teaching to
meet Illinois Learning Standards.
- Monthly
Recognition Assemblies
- Increased
technology opportunities for students
Areas for Planned
Improvement
- ISAT
scores for learning disabled children in reading and mathematics show a
need for improvement. Additional
training has been scheduled through Two Rivers Professional Development
Center to assist our teaching staff.
- We
will continue to work to integrate staff and work cooperatively at each
grade level, sharing resources and working to strengthen the curriculum by
having grade level and content subject meetings weekly.
- We
will try to increase contacts with parents and communicate about our new
building and procedures.
- Increased
collaboration between regular education and special education teachers.
