Farmington Central High School

2005-2006

This is the second consecutive year that Farmington Central High School has exceeded meeting State AYP (Average Yearly Progress) goals and standards.

School Improvement Focused Areas Include:

1.  The development of a test preparation program that will introduce freshman,

Sophomores, and juniors to test taking strategies and standardized testing formats.

2.  The exploration of weighted grading which offers incentives to students who take more intensive writing courses.

3.  The expansion and state certification of our school/district-mentoring program, in order to get newer teachers more quickly acclimated to ensure increased student success.

These are a few areas that have been targeted by our current school improvement plan.  We will evaluate these goals, as well as analyze the latest school report card, in order to formulate and continue our school improvement efforts for next year and beyond.
