The information listed below is taken from the Farmington Central District Report Card and the Farmington Central Junior High School Improvement Plan.
Areas
of strengths in the junior high are:
. ISAT test scores are higher than the state average in science, social
sciences, reading, and math
. Specialized services and instruction in the areas of Title One reading,
speech therapy, daily physical education, computer classes, special
education, chorus, band, and art
. Instructional and research computer labs for teacher and student use
. Certified staff which meets the No Child Left Behind requirements
. School curriculum aligned to the I1Iinois State Standards
. Increased use and training in technology
Areas of improvement and/or change are:
· Computer instruction to include keyboarding
· Students and faculty adapting to a new Principal
. A new discipline system
The junior high teachers determined the three priority goals for the 2005-06 school year. They are:
1. To implement bullying awareness activities
2. To improve student academic test scores as measured by the
ISAT and Stanford Achievement tests
3. To enhance collaboration between all teachers and staff
