Sports Update
Congratulations to our State cross country runners! All 3 of our state qualifiers ran well on Saturday while they were competing against some of the best in the state. There were 223 runners in both races, and less than 60 seconds separated 10th from 100th in both the boys and girls races.
Addison Martin finished 62nd. Kay Heisel finished 70th. Jack Heisel finished 109th. Congratulations again to our 3 state qualifiers.
Any cross country runner who still needs to turn in their uniform needs to do so this week.
7th and 8th grade boys basketball tryouts will start today from 3:15- 5:30pm in Gym C.
Announcements:
Congratulations for a fantabulous night on Friday night at the conference speech contest! We brought home an impressive 24 1st place ratings and 3 2nd place ratings!
Speech practices this week will be on today and Tuesday until 3:45 to go over judges comments only. Team members are welcome to see Coach Beoletto, along with their partners or team if possible, during the school day (before school, during FLC or study hall) to get their results instead if desired. Great job, Team!!!
Halloween Costumes - Coming up soon is Red Ribbon Week. It will start on October 27th. Friday October 31st is Halloween and I have had some questions regarding costumes on Halloween. You may wear costumes when you come to school. Wigs are fine, inflatables are fine, my only non-negotiable is that there are no masks to cover your face. Once we start instructional time, we want to limit the amount of distractions. So wigs, inflatables, anything that would be deemed overly distracting, will be be put away. One other note, in order to wear a costume that day, there is a $1 donation. This will go to the IAJHSC State Service Project which is Camp Granda.
Exciting News!!! Mrs. Plumer's overly interesting scavenger hunt has begun!!! Grab a sheet for clues and instructions from the office or Mrs. Plumer and find your 20 "Candy Corn" around the school. Make sure you follow the clues to find where Candy is visiting. If you are interested in working in the library during 2nd quarter, see Mrs. Plumer for a clerk time.
