🚒 Thank you to our local fire departments for visiting Farmington Central Elementary during Fire Safety Week! Our students learned important fire safety lessons and then had the opportunity to check out the fire trucks.
A very special thank you goes to Deputy Chief Ron Zessin for 30 years of leading our fire safety presentation. As he concludes his final year presenting at FCES, we want him to know how much his dedication has meant to generations of Farmers.

Our second graders had a creative and inspiring time in the Farmington Central Elementary Library! 📚✨
We read What Do You Do With an Idea? by Kobi Yamada and talked about how ideas can start out small, but when we believe in them, nurture them, and give them a chance, they can grow into something amazing. The story reminds us that we shouldn’t be afraid to share our ideas or let others tell us that they aren’t good enough. Sometimes, the best ideas are the ones that are completely our own! 💭❤️
Then it was time to put those ideas into action! 🧱🚀
Our second graders were given a simple challenge: Come up with ANY idea you want and build it with LEGOs! There were no right or wrong answers and no example to copy. They had the freedom to imagine, create, problem-solve, and bring their own ideas to life.
And WOW…look what they created! 🤩

New Aftercare Option Coming to FCES!
FCES & the School Board honored one of our outstanding teachers with the Helen Farmer Haggerty Award. This award is presented yearly to a teacher, chosen by vote of the faculty, as someone who represents the same dedication and ability to encourage students as former Harris School teacher Helen Farmer Haggerty.
This year's winner was 4th Grade Teacher Cathy Jordan. In turn, Mrs. Jordan was able to choose a student from her class who has shown tremendous growth and potential for the future. The student award winner was Carter Gilles. Both of our award winners were very deserving of this achievement!
