  • Adian Basalay was selected as October’s Senior of the Month. Adian excels academically as he is in the top 5% of his class and is a member of the National Honor Society. Along with his studies, Adian is involved in various extracurricular activities including: Band, Cross Country,  Track and Field, FCA, Mathletes, Science Olympiad, Theatre, STEM, and WYSE Team. In addition to his extensive involvement in school, Adian finds time to give back as he volunteers within the community. He served as a mentor for children as a camp counselor, assisted with the annual Farmington blood drive, and donated his time at the Midwest Food Bank packing meals and other non-perishable items for those in need. He is hoping to attend Georgia Tech next year where he will major in Industrial Design. Congratulations, Adian! 

  • Congratulations to Jason Kennelly who was selected as the Freshman of the Month for

October! He is involved in Theatre, Cross Country, Harvest Team, FCA, Youth Group, 4H, Baseball, and Scholastic Bowl. Congratulations, Jason!

  • Congratulations to Isabella Beoletto who was selected as Sophomore of the Month for

October! She is involved in Volleyball, Softball, Crew, Golf, Key Club, Art Club, and Marching Band. Congratulations, Isabella!

  • Congratulations to Logan Archdale who was selected as Junior of the Month for

October!  He is involved in Harvest Team, Drama Club, Drama Club officer - Representative, FCA, Prom committee, Marching Band, Drumline, and Concert Band. Congratulations, Logan!

  • October’s Staff Member of the Month is Mr. Bach.  Mr. Bach has been working at Farmington for 5 AMAZING years. At the young age of 22, he enjoys many recreational activities such as fitness, the arts, and humanities. Mr. Bach also enjoys spending time with his beautiful and brilliant wife, Sarah and their delightful son Oliver.  Congratulations, Mr. Bach!

 

  • The HS Cross Country team participated in the Prairieland Conference Meet at Lake Storey Tuesday night. The girls team placed second overall and were led by senior Makenna Hintz. Makenna was All-Conference in all 4 years! The boys were led by freshman Brayden Morse. Many season bests were made.  Keep up the good work! 

 

The Farmers have now added another home meet at 10am on Saturday, October 17th against Knoxville and Stark County. Please come out and support your hardworking Cross Country runners!

  • The Lady Farmers Golf team took their ride to Maple Lane in Elmwood for another golf contest. The Lady Farmer's took their game to the next level shooting their lowest score of the season for 9 holes with a 204. The Farmers beat Knoxville by 204 to 242 and the farmer's beat Elmwood by 204 to 210. Leading the way with a 45 was Emma Evans who was the low medalist for the contest, Faith Wheeler with her best score ever for 9 holes with a 48, Ella Smith had a 52 and Riley Reed finished with a 59. The Girls next match is today at Eureka. The bus leaves at 2 o'clock and the match begins at 3:30. Great job Ladies!

  • Tomorrow (October 3rd) is another "Fun Friday" at Farmington Schools and this time, we will have Superhero Day!  We are very proud of our super students and all they have had to go through since March 2020.  Our students truly have superhuman powers!

 

We encourage our students to dress up as their favorite superhero!  Feel free to dress up as  DC, Marvel, or whoever you consider to be a superhero!  We hope to see several of our students participate!

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: This evening, Jo Branson from Spoon River College will be available in the auditorium to assist families with the financial aid application process. Please attend in person with your Chromebook to learn more about financial aid options.

Please email Ms. Smith (esmith@dist265.com) with preferred meeting time (5:30/7:00) to sign up for this event so that we may follow social distance guidelines.  

(Please note: Due to a new state law in 2020, all seniors will be required to complete FAFSA in order to receive a diploma and graduate. )

  • Next Thursday, October 8th & Friday, October 9th will be Remote Learning Days for all students.  Staff members will be conducting virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences at that time. Sack lunches will be available for any students interested to take home for Thursday and Friday.  Lunches will need to be pre-ordered in the high school cafeteria by Tuesday, October 6th and picked up Wednesday prior to leaving.  

  • Seniors will be taking the SAT exam on Wednesday, October 14th.  All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be remote learning that day.  Seniors that would like to pre-order a lunch to be eaten following the exam may sign up in the cafeteria by Tuesday, October 13th.

  • Sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT on Thursday, October 15th.  All freshmen and seniors will be remote learning that day.  Lunches may be pre-ordered in the cafeteria 

by Tuesday, October 13th. 

  • There will be a sophomore class meeting next Tuesday, October 6th in the gym.  Students with the last name A-M will meet at 1:00, N-Z will meet around 1:20 when called by intercom.  Please plan to attend.  Important fundraising and homecoming information will be shared.  If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Mendez or Mrs. Gibbs.
