Mr. Sunderland consistently goes above and beyond—not for recognition, but out of a genuine passion for his students and his work. This year, he took on the role of freshman sponsor to better connect with his Algebra I students, demonstrating his commitment to building meaningful relationships and supporting students beyond the classroom.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Sunderland volunteers his time as both a football and basketball coach, motivated purely by his love for the game and dedication to student-athletes. He routinely stays late to work with his athletes, then returns early the next morning to ensure his classes are fully prepared. His dedication doesn’t stop there—Mr. Sunderland often comes in on Sundays to stay on top of his responsibilities and ensure nothing less than his best is given.
Mr. Sunderland exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated educator and role model. His tireless work ethic, passion, and commitment to excellence make a lasting impact on our school community. We are incredibly grateful for all that he does and are honored to celebrate him as our February Staff Member of the Month.
