⭐#THANKFUL THURSDAY!⭐ *Friday Edition* At FCES, we are thankful for all our faculty & staff and everything they do for our school! This week we surprised some AWESOME educators that we are very appreciative to have! We are so #THANKFUL for all you do for our students!

Friday is the last day of our "Change to Bring Change" childhood cancer awareness donation collection. We are hoping for a big push here at the end so we can donate to the Midwest St. Jude Affiliate/Heller Center for Kids with Cancer in Ellie & Tucker's names. Donations can be dropped in the office. Also, tomorrow FCES will be wearing GOLD to promote Childhood Cancer Awareness.

Bus routes 5 and 17 will be combined today, Thursday, September 29. Times will vary. Thank you for your patience.

Ellie & Tucker are two FCES Farmers who have had childhood cancer directly affect their lives. Ellie is currently out of school fighting so hard, but hopes to return next semester. Tucker finished two and a half years of treatment, recently finished and is now a survivor! Their families are very appreciative of all the support they have received from the community and St. Jude that they wanted to help bring awareness while, also, raising money to help other fighters who suffer from cancer right here in Central Illinois. 🎗 This week FCES will have a "Change to Bring Change" fundraiser. Each morning students can bring in change to place in a large donation jug. Our goal is to fill this jug so we can send it as a donation to the Midwest St. Jude Affiliate/Heller Center for Kids with Cancer here in Peoria in Ellie & Tucker's names. 🎗 *In addition, Friday, traditionally, is a Purple & Gold day at FCES. This Friday we would love to see everyone wear gold to help bring awareness to childhood cancer. 🎗

*Picture Retakes Friday Sept. 30th* FCES picture retakes are Friday Sept. 30th for Bright Futures, ECE, new or absent students. Order forms are available in the office or orders can be made online. If your student was not present on August 22nd, please contact their teacher to ensure they will get their picture taken. *Please make sure to bring your smile. 😁*

*Weather Change* We have enjoyed some warm weather of late but Thursday & Friday will be a different story! Please make sure your students have proper attire (jackets, hoodies etc.) for tomorrow's big weather change. FCES tries to get students outside for fresh air as much as we can! Thanks!

FCES had some surprise guests for this week’s Friday morning meeting. Fresh off a big victory, the high school volleyball team welcomed our students & led today’s meeting. Our FCES Farmers were definitely excited to say the least. *Make sure to cheer on the volleyball team at their tournament in Princeville tomorrow!

Due to the bus driver shortage, beginning Tuesday, September 6th, routes 8 & 10 and routes 11 & 12 will be combined until further notice in the AM and PM. We apologize for the inconvenience. Illinois Central is having a hard time finding drivers at this time. Thank you and have a nice weekend!

Today the hunt was on for our kindergarten classes looking for their missing gingerbread cookies. They stopped in classes looking for clues, and even found Mr. Reeder nibbling on one of the gingerbread legs! Eventually the missing cookies were found! It was so much fun!

🏈Farmer Football Leads Morning Meeting🏈 FCES had some guests today for our Friday Morning Meeting. The Farmington Football Team welcomed students, made announcements, gave shout-outs, & led the Pledge of Allegiance. The students were EXCITED to say the least! The football team plays Havana at home tonight. Come cheer on the FARMERS! #FarmerFun #ENJOY

Tomorrow, Friday Sept 2, FCES students will celebrate completing our 3rd week of school & heading into the Labor Day weekend with a SIP Day picnic! Just like any other typical day at FCES, students should bring a sack lunch or purchase a lunch from the cafeteria. The only difference for tomorrow is that students will get to eat outside or in the classroom for a class picnic! Our students had a blast doing this last year & we look forward to doing this again!
