Today, Farmington Farmers visited the Monsanto Learning Center in Monmouth as part of our participation in the Fantasy Farming Challenge for local FFA chapters. We learned about some of the corn seed technologies being produced, and saw our plot for which the students made all the agronomic decisions (including seed variety, planting population, row spacing, nitrogen application, and fungicide and insecticide application). The results will be in once harvest is complete, but things look pretty good for our plot. Average yield estimates but sound decisions could have us in the running for most profitable plot!
